We participated in a booth exhibit of the Tono Research Institute of Earthquake Science (TRIES) at IAG-IASPEI 2017, the Joint Scientific Assembly of the International Association of Geodesy (IAG) and International Association of Seismology and Physics of the Earth’s Interior (IASPEI), held in Kobe from July 30 to August 4, 2017.

We received a mine safety slogan award in 2017 from the Kyushu Industrial Safety and Inspection Department of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI).
On July 4, 2017, Nakamura, from the Administration Section of our Hishikari District Office, received a special prize from the Kyushu Industrial Safety and Inspection Department as the 2017 mine safety slogan winner. “I want to pass on correct procedures and safety awareness, and I want to carry on a craftsman’s skill and a record of zero accidents.”

2017.05.27 Hishikari
We received the 2016 Outstanding Employee Award for Explosives Safety from the Kagoshima Prefecture Explosives Safety Association.
On May 27, 2016, Takimoto, from the Mining Section of our Hishikari District Office, received the President’s Award from the Kagoshima Prefecture Explosives Safety Association. Takimoto, who has been a qualified blaster for 31 years (since 1985), has engaged in explosives handling and blasting work at the Hishikari Mine. He received this award for his great contribution to safety in mine blasting work.
